Connect the NMEA or RS232 output of, for example, your AIS to your laptop or PC via this USB-to-Serial cable.

This cable is widely used for connecting an AIS or GPS to a laptop or PC.
Usually an AIS Class-A or INLAND-AIS does not have a USB cable, but a serial connection. Modern PCs and laptops, on the other hand, often no longer have a serial connection. This cable is ideal for connecting the AIS to the laptop or PC.

Length of the cable is 60 centimeters.
